Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A scavenger attempted to jump off the roof of the Light Rail Transit United Nations Avenue station in Manila yesterday morning.

Firefighters from Paco sub-station managed to rescue Paul Ignacio, 28, even before he could jump off the roof.

Reports said Ignacio scaled the roof at around 7 a.m. after his partner left him for good.

He first climbed a tree, leading to the train’s roof.

It took three hours before Ignacio was convinced to go down.

The incident caused a traffic build-up along Taft Avenue.
