MANILA, Philippines - An alleged member of an African drug syndicate was arrested for reportedly carrying high-grade shabu with a street value of P400,000 in Pamplona, Las Piñas City at past midnight yesterday.
Thank God Agu was apprehended near a bar on Rosal street by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents. The bar is where the members of the drug syndicate allegedly meet.
Augusto Isidoro, executive officer of the NBI’s anti-drug unit, said Agu was parked in front of a bank when agents asked him to get out of his black Honda Civic (WEW-335).
Instead of heeding the agents, Agu maneuvered his vehicle and bumped the agents’ car. He was cornered as he tried to flee.
A drug-sniffing dog detected the 137 grams of shabu in Agu’s car. The shabu was stuffed in an envelope and tucked into a green shoulder bag. Isidoro said the high-grade shabu came from China.
Agu is being held at the NBI headquarters in Manila.
