MANILA, Philippines - A son of the late former Candelaria, Quezon mayor David Emralino died Wednesday due to gunshot wounds in the chest he sustained after figuring in a road rage shootout in Mandaluyong City Sunday.

Jason Emralino, 26, of Pahinga Norte in Candelaria and the youngest of four siblings, passed away at the Lung Center of the Philippines at around 10:30 a.m.

Emralino used to manage his family’s business, DVE Printing Press.

The incident took place at the Guadalupe Bridge on Sunday morning. Police said Emralino’s Toyota Land Cruiser rear-ended the Honda Accord of security agency owner Exequiel Adora.

Adora and Emralino reportedly had a heated argument, which escalated into a shootout when the two men drew handguns. Emralino, Adora and one of Adora’s companions sustained gunshot wounds.
