Suspect in Korean’s stabbing surrenders
MANILA, Philippines - A suspect in the near-fatal stabbing of a Korean man at the Blue Wave Commercial Center along the Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City last Dec. 19 has surrendered to the police.
According to the Pasay City police, Froilam Escarmoso is under their custody after surrendering to San Juan City police chief Senior Superintendent Joselito Daniel at about 4 p.m. Thursday.
Police said Escarmoso, 37, admitted stabbing Young Jun Lee but denied that he had an accomplice.
Young was rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay City after he was allegedly stabbed by Escarmoso, his driver.
Senior Police Officer 1 Genomar Geraldino earlier said they are investigating whether Escarmoso and Young’s girlfriend, Raquel Mateo, were working together.
Young told police Escarmoso stabbed him when he said that he will have Mateo arrested if she does not return the P4.4 million she allegedly stole from him.
