MANILA, Philippines - A female employee of a pawnshop was shot dead as she resisted two robbers riding a motorcycle in Barangay Palanan, Makati City yesterday morning.
Racquel Ricafrente, 21, an appraiser at the Tambunting pawnshop on Einthoven street, was walking along Dian street to a nearby bank when the robbers cut her off at the corner of Dian and Calatagan streets, according to reports reaching the Southern Police District.
Ricafrente was about to deposit an undetermined amount of cash in a black bag, police said.
The robbers, both wearing full crash helmets, shot her in the head when she resisted, grabbed her bag and sped away.
Police officers found scattered cash bills of various denominations as well as three shells and two deformed slugs at the crime scene.
