MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Rail Transit (MRT), and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 will have shorter operating hours today and tomorrow due to the expected decline in the number of passengers, an official said yesterday.
MRT operations manager Renato San Jose said the last train will leave the Pasay-Taft station at 9 p.m. and North Avenue station at 8:30 p.m. tonight.
Tomorrow, the last trip for the two MRT end stations will be at 10:30 p.m.
On both days, the MRT will start operating at the regular time of 5 a.m.
At the LRT Line 1, the last trains at the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations will leave at 8 p.m. tonight. Tomorrow, the last train at the Baclaran station will leave at 9 p.m. and at the Roosevelt station at 9:30 p.m.
At the LRT Line 2, the last train will leave the Santolan station at 8 p.m. and C.M. Recto station at 8:30 p.m. tonight. Tomorrow, the last train will leave the Santolan station at 9:30 p.m. and the C.M. Recto station at 10 p.m.
The two LRT lines will open at the regular time of 5 a.m. on both days.
