Butcher slaughters partner

MANILA, Philippines - A jealous butcher reportedly killed his partner and slashed her face and chest in their home in Quezon City Sunday.

Donnabelle Gamayon, 30, who worked as a guard, was allegedly repeatedly stabbed by Alberto Balde, 37, in their rented apartment in Maligaya Park S2 Xubdivision in Barangay Pasong Putik at around 8 p.m.

Police Officer 2 Hermogenes Capili said Gamayon’s left nipple was missing from the crime scene and could have been taken by Balde when he fled.

Balde is now the subject of a manhunt, Capili said.

A neighbor told police she passed by the victim’s apartment on her way home and, through an opening in the door, saw the suspect trying to stab Gamayon. She said she ignored this and went home.

While in her home, the neighbor said she heard the couple arguing and heard the victim moaning and shouting for help.

When the neighbor went out, she saw Balde – still holding a knife – leave the apartment.

Capili said Gamayon and Balde had been living together for six months and just last month, they had a fight due to rumors that the victim was having an affair with another man.
