MANILA, Philippines - A rookie policeman is facing administrative and criminal charges for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Combined elements of the Navotas Anti-Illegal Drugs unit and Special Weapons and Tactics headed by police chief Superintendent Eduardo Giro arrested Police Officer 1 Mark Leonel Pua during a raid on the house of a certain Danilo Villanueva “alias Danny Toyo†in Phase 2, Area 1, Barangay North Bay Boulevard South in Navotas City Tuesday afternoon.
Villanueva, who is wanted for murder, reportedly escaped, leaving Pua, who yielded the drug paraphernalia.
Investigators said Pua is a suspected member of Villanueva’s group, which is believed to be responsible for the proliferation of drugs in the area.
