MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government yesterday stopped the operations of all commercial stalls operating at the Manila Seedling Bank along Quezon Avenue for alleged violation of the city’s revenue code and the national building code.
“We have given them one year and four months. Yet, up to now they are still unable to comply,†said city administrator Victor Endriga.
Endriga said that aside from operating without the necessary mayor’s and building permits, Manila Seedling Bank Foundation Inc. no longer have any legal personality with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Citing SEC records, he said the foundation’s certificate of registration has been revoked since Feb. 21, 2002 for non-payment of taxes from 1996 to 2003.
On Friday, the city’s business permits and licensing office served 82 cease and desist orders to tenants and occupants of the seedling bank.
