MANILA, Philippines - The city government of Taguig yesterday recognized its top taxpayers as it vowed to push for reforms in its tax collection efforts while maintaining efficient, corruption-free services to the business sector.
“The amount of resources we have allocated for basic social services is a testament of the immense contribution of the business sector to our city’s growth,†Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said.
Cayetano led the awarding of the top 100 taxpayers in a luncheon at the Endurun Colleges in Bonifacio Global City.
“We owe every one of you a debt of gratitude. Because of the taxes you invest in our city, we are able to send kids to college and bring medicine to those who need it,†she said.
Among the city’s top taxpayers are Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp., Fort Bonifacio Development Corp., Metro Market! Market!, Station Square East Commercial Corp., Serendra Inc., Colgate-Palmolive Philippines Inc., DMCI Project Developers Inc., Megaworld Corp., Metro Drug Inc. and Alveo Land Corp.
