3 boys nabbed for theft

MANILA, Philippines - Three boys were arrested in two separate theft incidents along the same road in Novaliches, Quezon City on Thursday.

Based on police reports, the incidents happened four hours apart from each other at the corner of Susano Road and General Luis street in Barangay Novaliches Proper.

Police said the first theft happened at around 9:45 a.m. as Anna Elaine Jokiko was walking on her way to work. A 12-year-old boy walked side-by-side with her, opened the zipper of her shoulder bag and stole her cell phone.

Police officers noticed the theft and arrested the boy. 

In the second incident, college student Delilah Joaldo was walking on her way to school at around 1:30 p.m. when two boys  – aged 13 and 11 – walked along with her and stole her phone from her bag. Again, policemen noticed the theft and apprehended the boys.

The three boys were turned over to the custody of social workers.
