MANILA, Philippines - A woman and her partner were shot dead in Tondo, Manila on Friday.
Cornelia Fernandez, 33, and Bernard Briones, 24, died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head, said Senior Police Officer 2 Richard Escarlan of the Manila Police District homicide division.
Police said the incident happened at 6:15 p.m.
The victims were selling vegetables in front of Aroma temporary housing in Tondo when the suspect shot them at close range.
Witnesses told police that the gunman escaped toward Road 10.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
The victims’ remains were brought to Nathan funeral homes for autopsy.
