MANILA, Philippines - A company secretary was killed and robbed of P500,000 in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Olivia Samarita died from two gunshot wounds in the chest and two in her right arm when she was attacked in front of the office of her employer, Bellbry Lubricants, in Barangay San Isidro Labrador at past 10 a.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Eric Lazo said.
Two men on a motorcycle, its plate number unknown, took Samarita’s shoulder bag, which contained the money belonging to the company. Lazo said the money was supposed to be used to pay for items the company had bought.
Company driver Jaypee Payoran, 28, told police he drove the company’s blue Nissan Navarra (ZTX-768) to accompany Samarita to a bank along Banawe Avenue. After withdrawing the money, the two went straight back to the office.
After Payoran parked the vehicle, he noticed two men on a motorcycle behind them. He said he saw the back rider get off the motorcycle and approach Samarita, who had just gotten out of the Navarra.
The man shot Samarita, took the bag and fled on the motorcycle driven by his companion.
