Teen dies in suicide game

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A teenager made a suicide game a reality when he accidentally took his own life after playing with his siblings.

The parents of John Mark Daguplo, 14, of Barangay Bagong Pag-Asa, Quezon City, believe the boy did not commit suicide, Police Officer 3 Erickson Isidro said.

Isidro said the boy and his siblings had reportedly been playing suicide games after a female neighbor committed suicide sometime ago.

At around 6 p.m. Monday, Daguplo and his nine-year-old half-brother were the only ones in their house when the latter heard someone gasping.

The brother saw the teenager hanging from a wooden beam with a blanket looped around his neck. The brother quickly went out to seek help from neighbors who rushed the victim to the hospital, where he died upon arrival.
