Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Some P5 million worth of properties were destroyed by a fire that broke out at the National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) campus in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Superintendent Samuel Tadeo, Quezon City deputy fire marshal, said the flames were isolated at the fifth floor of the five-story elementary and high school building of the campus along Aurora Boulevard in Cubao.

No one was hurt in the incident, during which flames engulfed the classrooms and a maintenance room of the entire fifth floor, he said.

Tadeo said they were still determining the cause of the fire, believed to have started in the maintenance room at around 11 a.m. and reached fifth alarm before firemen put out the blaza just before noon.
