Jobseeker found dead in bus

MANILA, Philippines - A 28-year-old man applying for a job abroad was found dead in an air-conditioned bus in Mandaluyong City yesterday.

Gaudencio Calaus Jr. – a resident of Natividad, Pangasinan – was scheduled to undergo a medical examination yesterday for his job application and boarded a Five Star bus at its terminal in Tayug, Pangasinan at past midnight yesterday, Senior Police Officer 1 Joemer Puzon said.

When the bus reached EDSA in Mandaluyong City at around 5 a.m., driver Armando Sirdinola said all of the passengers were wide awake, except for Calaus, who appeared to be asleep.

Calaus was declared dead on arrival at the Medical City. His body was brought to the crime laboratory of the Philippine National Police to determine the cause of his death.
