3 fires hit Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Three fires broke out in Manila yesterday.
At past midnight, a fire hit the house of Marites Farnate on Nakpil street in Paco. Senior Fire Officer 3 Emmanuel Gaspar said faulty wiring may have caused the blaze.
It was put out about 40 minutes later. Investigators pegged the damage at P100,000.
Twenty minutes later, another fire was reported at the Esmeralda Pet Shop in Tondo. The blaze was immediately contained and only lasted for about 30 minutes.
About 5 p.m., a third fire hit a residential area in Tondo. Firefighters said the blaze reached third alarm, which means about firefighters on 10 firetrucks responded to the site.
As of 6 p.m., the fire had yet to be put out, firefighters said.
