2 motorbike thieves slain in QC

MANILA, Philippines - Two suspected motorcycle thieves were slain by policemen in an encounter in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

The two men, still unidentified, were spotted driving motorcycles without helmets along Araneta Avenue. One drove a Honda Wave motorcycle without a license plate while the other one drove a Suzuki Shogun with plate number 8230-CH, according Quezon City Police District (QCPD) deputy director for administration Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.

The two men shot at police officers who tried to accost them, prompting the lawmen to retaliate, said Senior Inspector Rolando Lorenzo, head of the QCPD’s anti-car theft section.
