MANILA, Philippines - Two alleged motorcycle robbers were slain in an encounter with policemen after they were spotted riding a motorcycle they had just stolen in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.
Bayani Marasigan identified the two slain men as the same ones who took his motorcycle in Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, said Superintendent Norberto Babagay, commander of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 4.
Babagay said his Honda Wave (4746-WO) was recovered following the encounter at around 12:30 a.m. Marasigan told police he was riding his motorcycle when the armed men took his vehicle at gunpoint as he stopped at a traffic light.
Babagay said the complainant immediately went to the QCPD Station 4 to report the incident. He said police officers spotted the robbers riding Marasigan’s motorcycle at the corner of SB and Samonte roads and tried to flag them down.
The robbers allegedly started shooting at the policemen, who retaliated and killed the robbers.
