Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A waiter asking a taxi driver to convert a P1,000 bill into smaller denominations was killed when a wayward truck hit the taxi and dragged him for several meters in Pasig City before dawn Sunday.

John Christian Belmin, 20, died on the spot while police officers arrested truck driver Roger Colorina, 26.

Police Officer 3 Randy Todera said Belmin went out of the karaoke bar at around 4 a.m. and approached taxi diver Carmelito Segovia. At this juncture, Colorina’s truck hit Segovia’s parked taxi as well as Belmin, dragging both the taxi and the victim for several meters.

Investigators are trying to determine whether Colorina was drunk at the time of the incident.
