MANILA, Philippines - Three suspected motorcycle thieves were arrested in Sampaloc, Manila Tuesday.
Police identified the suspects as Neo Salvador, 25; Norman Cunanan; and John Mangulabnan.
Inspector Rizalino Ibay of the Manila Police District anti-car theft unit said they recovered a stolen Yamaha Mio from Salvador. The motorcycle is registered to Maria Theresa Lualhati Baylon.
Policemen were conducting a follow-up operation when they spotted Salvador on a motorcycle without a helmet along Quezon Boulevard.
The lawmen noted that the vehicle had no license plate.
Police flagged him down, but Salvador sped off. A chase ensued until Salvador was cornered along Lerma street.
When police checked the motorcycle, they discovered it was stolen last June.
Under police interrogation, Salvador snitched on his accomplices – Cunanan and Mangulabnan.
