MANILA, Philippines - A Korean was found dead in a Malate condominium on Monday afternoon.
Jai Young Am, 55, was found hanging in the bathroom by his friend, Num Hwan, said the Manila Police District’s homicide division.
Police said Num went to Jai’s unit after the latter failed to answer his phone calls. When Num arrived at the unit, he kept knocking on the door but no one answered, prompting him to open it using a duplicate key.
Police found no suicide note. Investigators said they will still check if foul play was involved in Jai’s death.
The Korean embassy has been informed of Jai’s death, investigators said.
