Pasig employee stabbed during clearing ops

MANILA, Philippines - A Pasig City government employee was stabbed by a vendor during a clearing operation at the Pasig Mega Market yesterday morning.

Martinez, 41, and his fellow employees under the Special Operations Group were confiscating the wares of vendors who put up stalls in the middle of the street when a vendor, identified only as Rolando, stabbed him in the right arm with a fan knife, Police Officer 3 Rolando Anselmo said.

Martinez’s attacker escaped as the victim’s companions rushed him to the hospital.
