Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The husband of a candidate for chairman of Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City was killed in front of their house Monday afternoon.

Witnesses said Allan Loquez, 43, was coming out of the house at around 3:45 p.m. when an armed man shot him twice in the head. During the attack, two other armed men pointed their guns at bystanders, according to witnesses.

Loquez died while being treated at the Pagamutan ng Lungsod ng Malabon.

A relative told investigators that the couple started receiving death threats after Jenny Loquez signified her intention to run in the Oct. 28 barangay elections.
