SC sets up flood transport plan for Bar examinees

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) has released a contingency plan for Bar examinees should heavy rains drench the country’s capital during the four Sundays of October, scheduled as the examination days.

“In case of heavy rain on a Bar examination day, a limited number of Supreme Court and Court of Appeals (CA) buses shall be able to transport Bar examinees and duty personnel of the University of Santo Tomas (UST),” SC announced on Twitter.

The six designated pick-up and drop-off points are: Quezon City Memorial Circle, Park and Ride in Lawton, the SC compound on Taft Avenue, Greenbelt and Glorietta in Makati, Coastal Mall in Parañaque, and Marikina Sports Complex.

Two buses will be stationed at each area from 5 to 6 a.m. The scheme will be on a first come, first served basis.

“Only Bar examinees and duty personnel are allowed to ride the shuttle buses... In order to avail of this service they must present their notice of admission, gate pass or ID, as the case may be to the bus driver before being allowed to board,” the SC said.

In case of flooding at the UST compound, the court will also provide shuttle vans that will transport the examinees and personnel from the gate to their respective buildings.

“In case flooding persists after the end of the examinations on any given examination day, the SC commuter vans on standby at each examination building in UST shall be available to transport back Bar examinees and duty personnel to the Osmeña and Arellano Drives near Gate 5 on España Boulevard, where SC and CA shuttle buses are parked,” it said.

The shuttle buses will bring back the passengers to the six pick-up and drop-off points.
