LPG store, LBC branch in QC robbed
MANILA, Philippines - Robbers struck at two establishments in Quezon City, taking away more than P400,000 in cash and valuables Sunday afternoon.
Robbed were an LPG shop along Kamias Road and the LBC branch at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue, police said.
The LPG shop’s owner, Luis Caluag, told police they were about to close at 2:30 p.m. when three men barged into the store and declared a holdup at gunpoint.
Police Officer 3 Rodolfo Ramos Jr. said the suspects took P370,600 in cash, laptops worth P46,000, cell phones worth P31,500, a surveillance camera recorder and radio cassette recorder.
At around the same time, two men broke into the money remittance shop.
Police said one of the robbers was wearing a mask.
LBC employees Michael Domingo and Franie Lozano were computing their total earnings for the day when the suspects entered the shop.
PO2 Wilmore Bataanon said another suspect served as a lookout.
The suspects escaped on foot toward Panay Avenue with the P7,300 loot, police said.
