Caloocan barangay bets caught doing drugs
MANILA, Philippines - A candidate for barangay chairman and a councilman seeking re-election were among those reportedly caught engaging in a drug session at a poultry farm in Barangay 181, Caloocan City Thursday.
Police officers from Sub-station 5, who raided the farm in Pangarap Village after receiving a tip regarding the operation of illegal video karera machines, chanced upon former Barangay 181 chairman Rafael Oxales; councilman Rodolfo Cabrera, 38; and 19-year-old Justin Callo allegedly sniffing shabu.
Oxales failed in his re-election bid in 2010 and is running in next month’s barangay polls to regain his former post while Cabrera is running for re-election.
The three men were turned over to the city police’s Station Anti-Illegal Drug unit. SAID chief Senior Inspector Amor Cerillo said the three suspects reportedly frequented the poultry farm, which served as a drug den.
Sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from the suspects, Cerillo said.
