Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was hacked and shot dead by four men in Navotas City Friday afternoon, police said.

Victim George Bullos, 59, was declared dead on arrival at the Tondo Medical Center after he was attacked at his home on C-3 Road at around 10 a.m., Inspector Resty Descalzo said.

The victim was fixing their house with his son when four men – identified as Lino Baculanay, 50; Jeffrey Baculanay, Serafin Orolano and Eliseo Bardeloza – arrived and reportedly started attacking Bullos, Descalzo said.

The police officer said the victims tried to fight back and injured Lino, who was brought by his daughter to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center after he sustained two lacerations.

Lino was arrested while police officers are searching for his companions. Investigators have yet to find out why Bullos was attacked, Descalzo said.
