MANILA, Philippines - Two people were hurt when a closed van carrying barrels of hydrogen peroxide lost its brakes and hit three vehicles along Nagtahan bridge in Manila yesterday morning.

One of victims was the crew of the closed van with plate number UXQ-818.

Manila traffic police said the truck was on Nagtahan bridge’s southbound lane when its brakes failed and it hit a new Toyota Vios (TU5032) and a taxi (TXR-571).

The accident caused a traffic jam in the area. Police said the van was the last to be towed, but as of 6 p.m., 94 barrels of hydrogen peroxide remain scattered on the road.
