Bike lanes in QC’s major roads eyed

MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City councilor has proposed a measure that would urge the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the local department of public order and safety to designate bike lanes along the cityâ€™s major thoroughfares.

Third district Councilor Allan Benedict Reyes said that designating bicycle lanes would ensure the safety of bikers and decongest Quezon City streets.

â€œThe city government aims to help in solving traffic congestion by offering alternative modes of transportation,â€ he said.
