Rhodina Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Maynilad Water Services Inc. is spending P166 million for pipe laying projects in the cities of Caloocan and Valenzuela.

The pipe laying projects will affect Bagbaguin Road, ITC Compound Road, Malinis street, P. Faustino street, Velilia street and Ibaba Bignay Road.

The projects are scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2014, Maynilad said.

Once completed, the new pipes will enable Maynilad to improve water availability for 2,700 households in the affected areas.

“We are committed to invest in projects that will deliver improved services to our customers. This project will enable us to provide round the clock water service to our customers,” Maynilad president and chief executive officer Ricky Vargas said.

The water concessionaire is coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and the local governments of Valenzuela and Caloocan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in affected areas.

The work sites will be barricaded and installed with traffic and warning signs for public safety, Maynilad said.

Motorists and pedestrians passing along the sites are reminded to strictly observe traffic rules.

Maynilad is a concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System for the west zone of Manila (except portions of San Andres and Sta. Ana), Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon.
