Talent manager loses P1.8 M to burglars
MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into the house of a talent manager in Quezon City and carted away P1.8 million worth of cash and valuables Friday night.
Leon Tan, of Barangay Batasan Hills, lost P500,000 cash, an iPhone 4S worth P33,000, an iPad Mini worth P22,000, an iPod Touch amounting to P10,000 and assorted jewelry, watches, and imported bags amounting to P1.3 million, said Inspector Alan dela Cruz, head of the Quezon City Police District theft and robbery section.
Tan told police the break-in was discovered when he and his family arrived home at around 8 p.m.
He and his wife, Catherine, left home at past noon to pick up their children from school.
When they returned home, the front gate had been opened.
Police said the suspects might have scaled the fence. Once inside, the burglars forced open the lock of the secondary gate.
The suspects ransacked the master’s bedroom on the second floor, police said.
Dela Cruz noted the victim’s house is located in a guarded subdivision.
Police are checking the records of the guards manning the subdivision’s gate for the list of vehicles that entered the subdivision without stickers.
