MANILA, Philippines - The body of a woman stuffed in a drum was found in a creek in Quiapo, Manila on Friday morning, six days after she went missing.

Police said Ma. Kristine Ricafrente, 32, was identified by her mother, Mercedita de Guzman, 56, through the tattoos on her body.

According to case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Mario Asilo of the Manila Police District homicide section, the name “Michael” and a rose were tattooed on the victim’s right leg.

Reports said Ricafrente was last seen alive on the night of Aug. 24.

Her body was discovered at around 11 a.m. the other day when netizens posted the floating blue drum on Facebook.

Police said the remains were brought to the Archangel Funeral Homes for autopsy.

Asilo said Ricafrente was supposed to visit her friend only known as “Jokang” before she went missing.

She allegedly told her mother that she was going to Jokang’s house, but instead met with a certain Khalil in Quiapo.

Jokang tried to call her, but Ricafrente’s cell phone was out of reach.

The victim’s friend asked the police to accompany him to Khalil’s house on Aug. 28 where they allegedly saw Ricafrente’s clothes.

Khalil, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found.
