Robbers trade shots with QC cops; 1 dead

MANILA, Philippines - One of two alleged robbers was killed in what police said was a shootout following a jeepney heist in Quezon City Tuesday night.

Police have yet to identify the slain suspect.

The suspect was killed in a brief firefight with operatives of the Quezon City Police District’s Station 11 along Quezon Avenue in Barangay Doña Josefa at 10 p.m., QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said.

Policemen recovered from the suspect a caliber .38 handgun.

Police failed to recover the victims’ belongings believed to have been taken away by the suspect’s companion, who managed to escape.
