MMDA to fine motorists with commemorative plates
MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will begin apprehending persons who drive cars with commemorative plates, which the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said have expired.
MMDA assistant general manager Emerson Carlos said in weekly radio program on dzBB that motorists using commemorative plates will be fined P2,500.
This penalty also covers motorists driving cars with dirty or tampered plates.
Carlos said the LTO has authorized only regular plate numbers or the conduction sticker numbers for newly purchased vehicles.
