Baby abandoned on QC sidewalk

MANILA, Philippines - A baby boy was found crawling on the sidewalk in Quezon City Thursday night. 

Jeepney driver Carlos Balbuena was driving along Sergeant Catolos street in Barangay Immaculate Conception when another motorist shouted about a baby, prompting him to step on the brakes. When he checked the rear of his jeepney, he found the baby boy, clad in a tank top and shorts, at around 6 p.m.

Barangay councilwoman Gloria Osares said a woman was reportedly seen in the area carrying the baby. A plastic bag containing dirty clothes was found nearby.

He reported the incident to the barangay hall and the baby is set to be turned over to the custody of social workers.
