Teen stabbed dead in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old boy was stabbed dead at a public market in Malabon City before dawn Friday, police said yesterday.

Reynan Sotero was declared dead on arrival at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon due to a stab wound in the chest, said Senior Inspector Romulo Mabborang.

Sotero was at a market in Barangay Tonsuya at around 4 a.m. when four males approached him, Mabborang said. One of the men allegedly stabbed the victim before they fled from the area.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in a follow-up operation. His alleged companions – Jave Lacanlao, 18; “Nonoy” and “Jeffrey” – remain at large.
