Train runs over man in Makati

MANILA, Philippines - A 37-year-old construction worker was killed when a train ran over him as he was reportedly sleeping on the railroad tracks near the intersection of Pasay Road and Osmeña Highway in Makati City yesterday morning.

Rolando Diaz died on the spot just before 8 a.m. after being hit by the train operated by Norman Cuachin, 26, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban.

A passerby tried but failed to wake Diaz up, police said.

Cuachin is being questioned by police officers investigating the incident.
