Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ten people, including two minors, were hurt when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank leaked and blew up in a two-story house in Paco, Manila last Sunday, police said yesterday.

House owner Reynaldo Garcia suffered burns all over his body. The other victims suffered minor injuries, according to Inspector Arnold Santos, chief of the Manila Police District’s explosives and ordnance division.

Santos said the incident was reported to the police only yesterday.

Garcia was fixing the LPG tank in his home on Cristobal street when it blew up, police said.

Seven of the injured victims were Garcia’s relatives. The two others were his neighbors.

Arson investigators conducted an ocular inspection of the blast site yesterday.

Damage to property was placed at P50,000.
