Dutch expat nabbed for firing gun

MANILA, Philippines - A Dutchman was arrested for allegedly indiscriminately firing a revolver along Canley Road in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City Monday.

Farichard Rahied Hasnoe, an employee of information technology firm Logica Philippines Inc., did not resist when police officers led by Senior Inspector Cesario Tubog arrested him at around 10 p.m.

Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel ordered Hasnoe subjected to a physical examination to find out what drove the Dutchman to create trouble.

Hasnoe, who appeared weak following his arrest, yielded a .357 Colt revolver, Laurel said.

He ordered Hasnoe, who is being held at the city police’s detention center, charged with alarm and scandal and illegal possession of firearms.
