MANILA, Philippines - The bodies of three men were found hours apart in three cities in Metro Manila since Thursday night.

The first man was found by Rene Alcomendaz along Zapote street in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City at past 11 p.m. Thursday, said Senior Inspector Rogelio Batara.

The unidentified man was shot twice in the head. Batara said the victim, who was about 45 to 50 years old and 5’6” tall, was clad in a white shirt and brown shorts.

Investigators recovered a used .45 caliber cartridge and a deformed slug near the body, Batara said.

At around midnight yesterday, the body of another man was found in a trash bag at a vacant lot at the corner of Legaspi street and Litex Road in Payatas, Quezon City.

Police Officer 2 George Caculba said they have yet to identify the slain man, whose body was riddled with stab wounds. He described the victim to be in his late 40s, fair-skinned, and around 5’5” tall.

The victim also had the names “Sgt. Posete” tattooed on his left leg and “G. Pitulay” on his back.

Resident Lorsas Fernandez told police that she noticed the trash bag when she was walking on the sidewalk. She said the man’s head was protruding from the bag.

In Manila, the body of Kenneth Amores, a resident of Quiapo, was found on Legarda street in Sampaloc yesterday morning. His hands were tied with wire behind his back and his head was covered with a black garbage bag.

According to the victim’s relatives, Amores had been missing for two days.

The area where Amores’ body was found was just a few blocks away from where a man was summarily executed at the corner of Legarda and Sta. Teresita streets, also in Sampaloc, Thursday morning.

Eleuterio Marayag, a security guard at the Florida Bus terminal, said he was at his post at past 3 a.m. when he saw a white sedan suddenly stop and its occupants drag a man from the car. They repeatedly shot the man, who was hogtied, he added.

Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo said they have yet to identify the victim. He refused to say if the killing was the handiwork of law enforcers or if the victim was a criminal.

Earlier this year, several victims of summary execution were dumped in different places in Tondo.
