MANILA, Philippines - Independent film actor Marco Morales, who was arrested by the Makati police last week for unpaid hotel bills and stolen items, is out on bail, police said yesterday.
Morales, also known as Marco Gonzaga Saca, was released from detention after Judge Wilfredo Oca of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 63 allowed him to post P8,000 bond last Friday.
Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte, Southern Police District director, said they released the actor from their custody after receiving the court’s order.
Morales was nabbed last week after he attempted to leave the St. Giles Hotel in Makati without settling his bill.
Police filed charges of estafa, concealment of true name, resistance and disobedience, and alarm and scandal against the suspect.
He is also facing charges of attempted homicide, estafa and theft with a Pasay City court.
“The offenses committed by Morales are all bailable so we advise hotel and motel employees to be on guard if he tries to check in,†Villacorte said.
