MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City judge handling the 2009 Maguindanao massacre trial has set the arraignment of a son and nephew of former Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. after she denied their respective motions to dismiss the case filed against them.

In an order issued yesterday, Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes set the arraignment of Akmad Ampatuan and Sajid Islam Ampatuan on June 26 at the Quezon City Jail-Annex in Camp Bagong Diwa.

Akmad is a son-in-law and nephew of Ampatuan Sr., while Sajid is a son of the clan patriarch and brother of principal suspect former Datu Unsay mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr.
