MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested one of two motorcycle-riding men shortly after they tried to rob two employees of P170,000 in Mandaluyong City Tuesday.

Reynaldo Cepedo, 24, of Barangay Highway Hills, was cornered by police after a brief chase. He yielded a caliber .38 revolver. His companion managed to escape.

City police commander Senior Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen said the victims, Ryan Pacheco, 21, a liaison officer, and Hilario Capili, 59, driver, positively identified Cepedo as one of the suspects.

Quibuyen said Pacheco and Capili were in a silver Hyundai SUV (FFX 626) when the motorcycle-riding suspects bumped them along Haig street in Barangay Daang Bakal at about 4 p.m.
