MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration (BI) prevented yesterday 23 Filipino women from leaving the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Dong Castillo, head of the BI-Travel Control and Enforcement Unit, said they intercepted the women for having two visas – one for Dubai and another for Lebanon and Jordan.
When questioned, Castillo said the women told authorities they were going to Dubai. But they later admitted that they intended to work in Jordan and Lebanon as domestic helpers.
Airport authorities turned them over to the Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking.
