7 hurt in Malate shooting; 4 arrested
MANILA, Philippines - Seven persons were wounded after at least four men shot at them in Malate, Manila at past midnight yesterday.
Jomar Sison, 25; Alex Guacao, 30; Delfin Severa, 22, Ace Velasco, 27; Aurelio Labang, 43; and Antonio Manuel, 42, were talking at the corner of Tuazon and Arellano streets while Ruby Ambrosio, 36, was reportedly passing by when the attack occurred just before 2 a.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Wexler Madumba said.
The victims were brought to the Ospital ng Maynila for treatment and are still under observation.
Police officers arrested Jimmy Aguas, 18; Marcelo Moral, 19; Rommel Moral, 25, and Michael Gajudo, 32, in an ensuing operation.
Investigators said a homemade shot gun was confiscated from Aguas, an alleged member of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik jailhouse gang, while a spent shell was recovered from Moral.
The suspects were charged with frustrated homicide before the city prosecutor’s office.
