2 ex-maids accused of P.5-M theft
MANILA, Philippines - A woman accused her two former maids of stealing P.5 million worth of jewelry, police said yesterday.
Ana Marie San Diego told the Quezon City Police District she noticed that the pieces of jewelry were missing only recently. She said she terminated the services of Riza Subalan and Danica Montallana, both 27, in January.
She claimed her family lost three men’s necklaces and a men’s bracelet, four women’s necklaces, two bracelets, a gold ring and two pairs of earrings.
Subalan started working for San Diego in April 2008 while Montallana was employed by the complainant since September 2012.
She said she suspected the theft happened whenever she was on vacation and entrusted her house in Project 7 to the two helpers.
