Helper steals sacks of rice from trader

MANILA, Philippines - A trader told police his helper reportedly stole 22 sacks of rice, worth P32,000, from his stall at a market in Pasig City before dawn yesterday.

Rodel Glover, 24, stay-in helper of Rogelio Sison, 44, is now the subject of a police manhunt.

A witness saw Glover taking sacks of rice from Sison’s stall at past 3 a.m. yesterday, police said. When the witness asked Glover what he was doing, Glover said Sison ordered him to deliver the rice to a customer.

After Glover left, Sison arrived and the witness reported the incident, prompting the trader to conduct an inventory of his stock. He found out that 22 sacks of rice were missing, police said.
