Fake director arrested
MANILA, Philippines - A man who claimed to be a movie and television director was arrested in an entrapment operation at a hotel in Manila Thursday night.
Estivoh Aposaga was apprehended by Senior Inspector Ramon Meneses and his team at the Southern Cross Hotel after he accepted money from two teenagers he had been recruiting.
The operation stemmed from a complaint by Richard Jemoya, guardian of the teenagers, who said Aposaga asked his wards to pay P2,000 for a seminar-workshop before his latest indie film, but there was no movie being filmed.
Aposaga told The STAR he was a movie director, but could not name the films he directed. He also claimed to have talents with a television network but refused to name them.
He was charged with estafa.
