MANILA, Philippines - A rider was killed when he was thrown from his motorcycle and landed headfirst in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City before dawn yesterday.
Ron Ross Echica was traveling along Amang Rodriguez Avenue when he lost control of his Suzuki Smash motorcycle (4136 HW) at past 1 a.m., traffic investigator Police Officer 3 Cristino Silayan said.
Echica was thrown from the motorcycle when it hit the gutter. He landed in the middle of the street headfirst, and his helmet was broken into pieces.
His motorcycle came to a complete stop after hitting a tree, said Silayan.
Danica Paranag, team leader of the Pasig City Emergency Unit, said Echica was no longer breathing when they arrived at the scene.
